The Swan Song
The words were strong, impalpable.
The acts were bold, timid.
The gaze was fixed, evasive.
The affection was inherent, elusive.
The words were lost in translation.
The ink was drenched and was disappearing.
The aroma was fading,
The message was unclear.
The chances were unheard,
The attraction was unattended.
The moments; yet to siezed.
The love; yet prevailed in the heart.

The Eternal Love Song
No nectar is sweeter than you.
No perfume is attractive than you.
My heart is jostling for you
Is it not real?
Thoughts are made for you.
All the pain is for being with you.
My devotion is only for you.
Is it a lie?
Come on, Sweet heart!
No faith, no believe,
No fiction, no emotions,
Even the boundaries do not matter now.
Restlessness governs the body,
My embodiment of love,
My virtues are falling apart.
My Soul mate embrace me for eternity.

The steps taken together..
Those eyes are at cynosure, making me aroused.
The steps taken together are heart warming.
The haplessness is gone.
My love has meaning.
The happiness is at its best, firm in your arms.
The enchanted music heard, subtle dance in making.
The passion is at its epitome
My destiny is with you.

The truth was always you.
Love was deceptive,
The words were elusive,
The eyes never lied.
The paths were so entangled,
The melodrama was at large,
The heart never stopped pumping .
The times were tensed,
The thoughts were stressed,
Passion was visible.
All the acts were painful,
All whispers were lies,
The truth was always you.Saturday, October 26, 2013
In the moment of madness
In the moment of madness,
in the darkest corner of my heart,
There is only one hope
to kindle the inexhaustible thirst.
No faith, no believe,
just sheer animosity
arousing a sense of ferocity
to unite the indulgence as never before.
The tempest is at its large,
the patience is lost in gusto,
the calmness in her eyes is divinity
to make the moment enduring, never ending love.

There is only one hope
to kindle the inexhaustible thirst.
No faith, no believe,

Your Eternal Presence
The Hint of your coming is pounding my heart,
The kohl(blackness) of your eyes has become my world.
Your wonderful touch, has pulsated every part of body,
your sweet smile, has changed the course of the breeze.
Your string of words are so melodious that birds are also chirping,
your walk is so intoxicating that it has become way of dance.
Have become accustomed to you, you are everywhere,
Have become fond of your company, I am only yours from now.

When moments become life!!
When moments become life
A sudden rush of blood thawed the engraved image enshrined in my heart,
It must have been an intense feeling to meet and give our talk a fresh start.
Eyes are engrossed,
Lips tight with an everlasting smile,
Hands in hand with ever-soothing caress touch,
No words are spoken.
The moment will freeze,
The heart starts pumping loud and fast.
No song of love will be ever so sweet,
Describing your unparallel beauty.
Unheard, unperturbed, unflinching,
The moments culminating to life long story.

Surrender to you!!
Was displeased with the bud, it did not blossom yesterday.
Was regretful with the moon, it was not going to shine tonight.
Asked the clouds about your address, there was no dew in sky.
Eyes wished a glimpse of you, to totally submit/surrender to you.

Thinking, Fast and Slow- Review Published in Live
How often we predict human perceptions fitting particular trait to
a person. If anyone wears a Gandhi cap we guess he must be a politician, a thin
uncouth person with dhoti and kurta as a farmer. But, we miss an important
point of statistics. Have you ever thought how many people who are not
politicians wear Gandhi cap and what about people who are not farmers who wear
dhoti and kurta. It is our fast thinking we have made a mental construct and we
try to fit models to it. There is another way of thinking which is slow and we
are often reluctant to use it because it takes time and effort to use it. World
renowned psychologist Dr. Daniel Kahneman takes us into a deep journey to
discover these two processes of thinking.
In the past our teachers have suggested many a times to write
answers in the examination. You should write your best answers in the beginning
and make minimum mistakes in the beginning, this creates a halo effect in the
mind of the examiner and you end up getting better marks. Often, you might have
made right efforts but failed to obtain satisfactory result. This might be due
to the fact in the end you were not able to present your work. In the books he
has elaborated on how thinking is anchored to a particular anchor makes your
decision biased. He has given the example of an experiment done in a
supermarket where they gave discount to for a limited number of products one
day whereas next day they gave discount on unlimited product. The number of products bought by customers
decreased to half. We seldom spend a lot
on luxurious items without thinking how much less we are going to use. But our
emotional intuitiveness blocks us from slow thinking and we have to pay heavy
price for the ephemeral luxury. The
author explains beautifully how often our causes elude the statistics favoring
an event.
Our
life is the result of the choices we make. Whether it may be a game of cards we
try to averse the losses. If we have two options, where in one we have a chance
of 10 to 90 of winning a million but if we lose have to pay fifty thousand and
on the other hand there is option of 90 to 10 of winning a lakh and losing five
thousands. Rarely we will take the risk and go for the first option. It is the
loss which hurt us the most. We try to minimize our risk. That is why plan our
work and set a reference goal based on the past results.
You
will find lot of companies offer life insurance cover. Benefit for this is that
they pay a minimum interest on premium. People readily agree to conditions
because they have vivid picture of rare accidents that might occur to them.
Often a disaster occurs to a place and we try to keep away from the place.
Though there is very less chance that the disaster will occur again to that
place. Rare events are so compelling that we try to avoid them. Often, people
take up policies which have minimum risk, though these may not be productive
but these save them from the possible loses that may occur if they take the risk.
Overall
the author has summed up all his knowledge garnered by his experiences which
arouses inquisitiveness to know more about social thinking and to find out
frames and realities of life. Sometimes you may think how confined your
thinking was. It is always good to decide slow, thinking about all the possible
solutions and choosing the best solution. Human psychology is based on
reference points. It is you who has to deliberate on your decisions to be happy
ever-after. This book helps you to envisage your thinking abilities and
elaborates the beauty of deliberate thinking.

Words of wisdom from Srimad Bhagavat Mahapurana
Gaj (the mighty elephant) prayed to Lord Vishnu with great
reverence and as one who was the lord of lords, Lord Vishnu came and saved him
from the clutches of Graha (mighty crocodile).
The fight between the two giants had prolonged for thousands of years.
Being devoid of food Gaj was weakening and Graha was slowly pulling Graha in
deep waters. Sensing the inevitable danger, Gaj prayed as lord with different
names and different forms and as the omnipresent. The story had been as lucid until you
understand the past. Gaj was a Gandharva
who was cursed by Devalke. Gaj was Pandya king Indradhyamn in past life who was
very devout follower of Lord Vishnu. He had left his kingdom and was living as
hermit. Sage Augastya cursed him to become a Gaj as he had left his duties as a
king and as an elephant he had turned stubborn. Ignoring ones duty for self salvation is not the way to pray the God. Gaj might have done something wrong but he had always been devout to the lord that's almighty came to save him.
Some stories of heard of Mahapuran told by my mother had
been my best bed-time stories. These stories have evolved as one of the best
guiding light and vivid explanation scenery and character is at its epitome. As an example the description of how a baby
develops in the womb is mesmerizing. It suffers with all the misery in the
initial months, later it prays to the lord and gains all the knowledge, but
ironically when mother gives birth it loses its knowledge and cries. It cries
for help from the lord to return the knowledge and give it moksha. Slowly, as it grows up it get involves into
the milieu and forgets to pray to the lord.
After being ignored by his father and harsh words from his
step-mother Prince Dhruv prayed to Lord Vishnu for six months, Lord Vishnu
blessed him that he will rule for long time and after that he would have a
prominent position in his palace. There was always a curiosity that how a child
of five years could constantly pray lord for continuous six months. Dhruv was
not allowed to sit on his father’s lap by the king’s beloved wife. He went
crying to his mother who tried to soothe him but finding it tough to pacify she
told why you wish to sit on your father’s lap? You should pray to the lord of
lords for a place in his lap. Being in deep anguish boy started his journey to
meet Lord Vishnu. Sage Narada met him on the way and to help out he elaborated
to him the complete outlook of the Lord and that he could always visualize this
image and gave him the mantra to repeat. This was the best way child can
remember the figure and mantra will help him to concentrate constantly. His
prayers were so strong that the lord came and Dhruv saw him as he had imagined
while praying. What we think was bliss to Dhruv, was disappointment for him as
he thought this was the best way to seek salvation from the cycle of birth and
death, but he missed this opportunity due to his anger which pervaded over all
other wants.
One more important tale was of Sage Kapil who explained his
mother Devhutani about salvation and how to earn it. His mother asked him that we, humans were so
much connected with our environment, how could we renunciate it to attain
salvation. The sage explained her as sunrays reflected in the water had nothing
to do with properties of the water. Likewise the soul which was in the body had
nothing to do with the happiness and sorrow inflicted to the body by the
environment as it was formless, does not requite and property less. But when
the soul got involved with the properties of environment and it gained pride, it lost its freedom and
peace and moved into cycle of birth and death in different forms.
The clouds floated by the winds, did not know the power of
wind, similarly the living beings were ignorant about the mighty time (or
death). Living beings struggled to get
objects and lament when they were destroyed by death. Due to different forms, flavor and odor our
senses captured different objects in various ways. Similarly there were many
ways to attain salvation. These ways could only be understood by person being
pious, kind, and humble, did not find fault in others, had friendship with all
animals, and did not get affected by material world, peaceful mind and who adored
the lord. Present relevance is that we all are infatuated towards materialistic
world and have in this way we have forgot the essential qualities which one
should have to build a healthy society.
In earlier times we read that even god who did something
wrong was get punished by pushed being into cycle of birth and death. It was
not as if we do everything good but one wrong we could escape from the
result. Even the god and great sages had
to take birth again and again. Each birth is new opportunity to serve the
society; thereby garner virtues and in this way attain moksha/ salvation. It is
time we think not only for our well-being but to build of ideal society where nectar
of Puranas is ubiquitous.

The Experienced, The Muscle and The Naivety
I was getting bogged down in a long queue with few friends to have a glimpse of the deity. My friends were busy in telling their jejune romanticism incessantly. Being reluctant to participate in their chitchat, I was in deep thought. Sometimes I was getting whiff of blood from the animals being sacrificed at nearby closed corner, distracted towards pigeons fluttering in search of every bit of the piece of rice suffused here and there. People who had paid to the authorities where entering the temple without delay. General public was standing in long queue, impatiently waiting for their turn to come. I noticed a nuance which I shared with my friends eloquently.
There was alter where people were going and breaking the coconuts and pouring the water over a goddess, placed at a few feet distance. An elderly person came and clinically broke the soft portion of the coconut (a point to note is that if you buy a coconut within the temple premises, the shopkeeper will cut a portion of coconut such that you can easily break the coconut.) and poured the whole water on the deity uttering the hymns. Another young person came and smashed it once with all his might, ran to bath the deity with the water, possibly few drops.
"Does it depict anything to you?"
"What?"
"Experience", "The elderly person had all the experience. He knew exactly at which point he had to hit to make small hole. The young man had all the strength but lacked the experienced. He used his might to break the coconut even his coconut has the soft spot too."
I could see slight smile on everyone.
"Can you explain this one?"One man who standing beside was keening hearing my logic, pointing me towards a young man who had failed to break the coconut twice hitting the alter. He threw the coconut with all his might and the pieces of coconut exploded with water flowing all over.
"Probably he grew up in household where he had to do nothing and lacked all the skills. He was a naïve person, say Mama's boy. "
"Having upbringing in suave society conceals you from coping in unpropitious situations."
All faces flushed with smile.
"The gates have opened, keep walking."
A sudden furor rose. The sluice gates have opened and we were getting excited to be inundated with faith.

The cradle song: a memory
As I was trying long to sleep today, engrossed in my deep thought, suddenly remembered my childhood.
When I would make my mother sing cradle songs and as she would sing lulabies in her sweet murmur voice, I could feel sleep in no time in her warm laps.
She used sang a few. I remember only this one.
