Digha Diaries

"Why you are heading for Digha? Its not good place for tourists. Only beaches and nothing else."said the Man in early fifties to me and Abhiket when we inquired to him about places we should go in Digha. "Thats the only thing I for which I am heading there."I whispered to Abhiket. It transcended me to my evergreen memories of beaches in Chennai.

Wait before I write further about my journey.Let me tell about 4 of us-Abhiket,Abhinav,Ritesh and me.(later in my writing I will refer all as 4).Abhiket planned the whole journey (he has already planned a few more!!!).He is the most enthusiastic about going anywhere. Abhinav who had just last week came from Goa made no excuses and was ready from word go. Ritesh was in winter to do project with us also succumbed to their pressure. I am not easy nut to waste my money in anything. I would have told them that I had to go home. But its was that call which insisted me t go forward.Earlier many times due several times we had called off this tour due to several reasons. But after spending nearly a fortnight together for our project. We got bored and renewed our plans.

We woke up early and caught up the bus. This was for the first time we went to bus terminus at espalanade. This terminus is in hazardous state. How can you dream of such a pathetic condition at the heart of a metropolis. We bought some berries, that tasted so bad. Bus started little bit and it was smooth ride. Listening ipod and crossing vidyasagar setu has its own charm. It was very much relaxing as soon as we were outskirt of city. Sometime we felt uncomfortable with ac on and off in this kind of awkward weather in December.
At first we had a short stop behind a "Playing Cricket." Now I am going to be little interactive. Show you the pictures and describe them a little.

This was at Reliance Petrol Pump, where the bus stopped for a short break.

We went from Digha to Mandar Moni through a cab and it was the most serene place. It was so serene and peaceful that we almost felt lost. Red craps coming out of the sand.

We played with water a lot and enjoyed viewing the sea.

It was there I felt to realize myself. It was mystic feeling. We were tired earlier but as soon as we entered into water all lost our tiredness, aroused soothing feeling like never before.

This us all while returning again to Digha we went to another beach, where i bought conch.

We had a light dinner and went to sleep early. i woke up early and went to Digha beach with Ritesh. It was a cold morning. Fresh air had generated a nice cooling sensation. It was my second visit to any beach, it flashed my memories of Chennai. After the breakfast we caught the bus to Kolkata. We returned listening local oriya video albums.
